We love being part of Long Island and servicing the communities from which our patients come.
We very much appreciate the heritage, scenery and the people from Farmingdale, Bellmore, Wantagh, Westbury, East Meadow, Bethpage, Hicksville, Massapequa, Merrick, and of course, Levittown!
BETHPAGE - home of Bethpage State Park , you won't find a much prettier, greener golf course anywhere and if you don't play golf just come and stroll since we just fixed your feet :)
BELLMORE - home of the Tackapausha Museum and Preserve
Actually it is in Seaford but only six minutes from Bellmore . In the middle of densely populated Seaford on the South Shore, is an historic and beautiful 84-acre sanctuary of oak forests, ponds and streams, small mammals and scores of bird species, all of which can viewed via five miles of clearly marked trails.
The Tackapausha Preserve, the first tract of preserve land acquired by Nassau County (in 1938 and originally for drainage purposes), is one of the most popular preserves on the South Shore. Bordered by Merrick Road on the south and Jerusalem Avenue on the north, it provides residents with the opportunity to enjoy a physically and spiritually invigorating hike (with your newly renovated feet!) in a convenient and accessible location.
In addition, the preserve incorporates a 3,000-square-foot museum with displays about the ecology of Long Island, as well as animal exhibits and shows and interactive activities for children. The museum is also available for birthday parties on weekends.
EAST MEADOW - Home of Eisenhower Park - ok for those of you who like other sports as well as beautiful scenery, Eisenhower Park in East Meadow cannot be beat! Basketball, tennis, baseball batting cages and much more populate A 930-ACRE OASIS OF OPEN SPACE AND RECREATION in the heart of Nassau County, Eisenhower Park is one of the largest public spaces in the New York metropolitan area – larger, in fact, than Central Park. The park offers a full range of athletic and family activities, including one of the finest swimming facilities in the U.S., a major golf facility, dozens of athletic fields and courts, picnic areas, summertime entertainment, playgrounds, fitness trails and more.
FARMINGDALE - Here is the "heritage" part I mentioned earlier. The Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society is a group of individuals that care about our heritage and have concerts and events and tours to remind us all.
HICKSVILLE - is home to the Long Island Earth Sciences Center which is the kind of place where you go when you are looking for something but can't define it and then end up developing a passionate interest in dinosaurs, butterfiles, volcanoes, shellfish or some other thing that you never knew you had a passionate interest in. Check it out in Hicksville
LEVITTOWN - Levittown has the distinction of being America's first post WWII suburb. Find out more about Levittown NY's historical distinction
MASSAPEQUA - Like organic food? Massapequa has one of the best organic food restaurants on Long Island. Organic Corner in Massapequa
MERRICK - While we are on the subject of healthy food, how about some Sushi? Merrick has one of the best Sushi places on Long Island
WANTAGH- Originally known as Jerusalem (yes it's true), Wantagh is the "gateway to Jones Beach" the backed up traffic capital of the world ha ha. Just kidding. Jones Beach is where people from France and other European countries come to get some sun and fun :) OK, you can wear sandals if you walk around on the beach or the boardwalk :)
WESTBURY - Home to the ever beautiful Westbury Gardens which has formal garden tours, school tours, indoor and outdoor concerts and even car shows! Gardening classes too.
